In a new Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker QA session with Hideo Kojima released by Konami (via Shacknews), the Metal Gear creator called Peace Walker an MGS5-class game, explaining that it essentially amounts to an official continuation of the Metal Gear Solid saga.

This game is an MGS5-class game. I am supervising, designing, producing, directing, and editing this title together with the MGS4 team, Kojima said. Therefore in that sense, #39;METAL GEAR SOLID#39; has not ended, and the #39;METAL GEAR SAGA#39; continues.

Kojima also divulged a few new details about how the game will play, calling it a little different from past Metal Gear Solid titles. [The] story can be replayed numerous times and the game is full of challenges to complete, so I feel that this title will really satisfy players with its long-lasting play time, Kojima said.
